It is constructed from beautiful cypress wood and comes fully assembled and ready to install with bees. Two Plexiglas observation panels and two wooden privacy panels are included. Our Deluxe Observation Hive holds three deep frames and three shallow frames (not included), which means it is ideal for over-wintering a colony. The Observation hive comes with frames all assembled and the hive is 100% ready to use. It's about 28-30" high, and slightly wider than a standard frame About 6" deep. The design of our Deluxe Observation Hive makes it ideal for installations at home, nature centers, museums and schools. Wood is not treated or painted - to use outside please treat wood with proper coatings of paint or stain. Adjustable entrance gate allows control of the coming and going of bees.
